I can tell you that the Simian Society of America puts out a great handbook for critters like me called "Primate Care." Some basic facts listed in that handbook that might want to know is Rhesus monkeys like me come from the genus "macaca" (or Macaques) and include Java (long-tailed or crab-eating), Rhesus, Stump-tail (red-feced), Pig-tailed, Celebes (creasted black macaques), and Japanese Snow Macaques as the more commonly kept of the genus. Each having a life span of some 25 to 30+ years. Rhesus monkeys are known to inhabit the areas of Morocco, Algeria, Afghanistan, India and China.
A Rhesus is generally reddish brown with grey forearms and al ight abdomen with a cute fleshy colored face. :) Weighing 10 -30 lbs, head and body 15 to 24", tail 7 to 12".
